MANNVS II
Balanced MM Interface System (Transformer + EQ + Balanced Output)
MANNVS II is a combined MM/MI interface system integrating transformer coupling, impedance control, and balanced signal output within a single architecture.
It operates as a multi-stage interface between cartridge and phono stage, controlling both signal transfer and electrical interaction.
Concept
MANNVS II combines two key elements of MM signal handling:
- transformer-based coupling for controlled signal transfer,
- LR impedance network for resonance and interaction control.
This structure allows simultaneous control of energy transfer and frequency-dependent loading within one system.
Architecture
MANNVS II consists of:
- broadband transformer stage (1:2 ratio),
- parallel LR impedance network,
- transformer-derived balanced XLR output.
The transformer provides controlled coupling, moderate voltage increase (+6 dB), and conversion from single-ended to balanced signal structure.
Galvanic isolation is maintained between input and output, reducing sensitivity to grounding conditions.

Signal Behaviour
MANNVS II provides:
- controlled signal transfer and level adaptation,
- stabilized cartridge interaction and resonance behaviour,
- reduced noise sensitivity through galvanic isolation,
- improved common-mode noise rejection in balanced operation.
The system maintains consistent signal structure across both single-ended and balanced outputs.
System Role
MANNVS II is intended for systems where:
- both signal transfer and interaction control are required,
- balanced interface to the phono stage is preferred,
- grounding stability and noise reduction are critical.
Position in MM Interface Systems
